Trompe l'Oeil
Painting Techniques: Draperies
-Patrick Kirwin: Week of February 19
- 23, 2007 |
|
Students will learn how to render full-sized illusionist
draperies. Included in this class will be sheers, patterned curtains,
tapestries and valances; folds and wrinkles will be studied and
how they affect pattern and imagery. Tassles and fringes will complete
the imagery. This is a highly effective and applicable trompe l'oeil
illusion, with three curtains in one painting rendered in 6 to 8
foot heights.
We are lucky to have international artist and one
of the founders of The Salon, Patrick Kirwin, to teach this class.
This is an ambitious schedule for a week-long class
but Patrick is confident that we should be able to complete the
artwork. Level of instruction is intermediate/advanced. The student
should have some drawing and painting experiance.
Patrick is a wonderful, supportive patient teacher
who has the ability to bring out the best in his students. Do not
be intimidated by the advanced nature of this class, you will walk
out a much better artist.
