This is an advanced level course which is a fast-paced hands-on class. We do not spend much time explaining materials in this class as it is focused on technique rather than material handling. This class is not suitable to begin with for those who do not know the basics of faux finishing.
The textures and metallics learned in this faux finish class are at the forefront of the hottest finishes on the market and will make your portfolio stand out from the rest.
Techniques learned will include Tuscan /Country
Plaster, Mica and Metallics, Texture Finishes, Veli &
Veluti (new satin metallic plaster), Bronze/Verdigris Damask,
Embedded leaves, Venetian Cascade, etc.
We reserve the right to add or change the faux finishes taught. |

A faux finish or faux painting is a painted imitation of something that occurs naturally. This is not sponging, ragging, smooshing, bagging or any other faux painting technique where the tool mark is left undisguised on a surface. Wall glazing is texturing a transluscent, colored glaze with a tool and then removing any sign of the tool or hand that applied it. We make a distinction between the two in our classes. Intermediate classes are where you start to learn the art of the real faux finish. This generally requires developing a skill rather than just a technique and requires practise. We are one of the few studios that insist a person must be qualified to take advanced classes before they are allowed to sign up for them.
