Advanced
Marbling Techniques:
|
|
Learn some of the time-honored techniques of marbling, also called
faux marbre, as these techniques are true trompe l'oeil in that
even at close examination, the illusion does not fall apart. This
is not a beginner class where colors are just blended together for
a vague, marble-like look.
The class will undertake a detailed study of each real marble by
breaking down individual components to better understand their nature.
Emphasis is placed on composition and technique, using only modern
water-based glaze mediums.
Students are given hands-on instruction using a combination of
traditional European and North American techniques.
This year we will undertake to learn Portor (black/gold) Rose Breche,
Paonetto and Rouge Royal.
All in water-based acrylic.
