This class combines practical color theory for painters and artisans with essential elements of design.
Learn the basics of mixing color using real, available pigments
and not just with theory. All hands-on
One of the problems with with traditional color theory is that it is taught with optical and/or with CMYK or ink primary colors. This approach is fine for opaque colors but when you use a color like this in a transparent glaze....all kinds of unpredictable results can occur.
I like to teach color theory from a practical standpoint where real paints and pigments like raw sienna and burnt umber are used and not just primaries. Paint chemistry is also covered so one has a better grounding in modern technology. How to mix colors in transparent glazes is key for a successful decorative painting business.
After learning how to adjust use all those quarts of colored paint you have stored in the basement, you will learn the basics of color design.
You will be shown the keys to color theory and where to find the colors in a room or house to reflect a customer's taste.
Learn the terminology to articulate interior design elements and how to work within your customer's color scheme when designing your custom sample boards and finishes. How and where to use complex colors
An invaluable course for professionals and amateurs. I will guarantee that this will prove to be one of the most useful courses you can take for your career in Decorative Finishing or Interior Decorating.
