This workshop will explore Reverse Stenciling techniques
and Silkscreen Application for Decorative Faux-Painted Surfaces
and Fabrics. Class instruction is by Lucretia Moroni, host of the
International Salon in Bergamo, Italy.
This unusual technique, was taught to Lucretia by Mongiardino Master
decorative painters, which she is happy to share. Suitable for extremely
detailed wood inlaid works. This is a subtractive technique: starting
with a pigment-coated surface, a pattern is developed by removing
areas exposed through stencil, achieving various color shades. Appropriate
for works on wood and paper grounds. This technique's application
to marblizing using a stencil will also be shown.
